Child safety standards

How Orbit prevents child sexual abuse and exploitation.

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Orbit has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to and how we act on them.

Orbit is for adults

Orbit is intended for people aged 18 and over. Accounts belonging to anyone under 18 are not permitted. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we remove it.

Orbit is closed by design

Nobody can find you on Orbit unless you are already connected. There is no public directory, no discovery feed, and no way for a stranger to reach you. You only ever see friends, friends of friends, and plans from your own circles, and nobody can message you until you are friends.

This matters for child safety: the pattern Orbit makes impossible by design is an adult browsing strangers and opening a conversation with one.

What is prohibited

This applies to profiles, photos, plans, comments and private messages alike.

Reporting, from inside the app

Every piece of content on Orbit can be reported from where you see it: a plan, a comment, a photo, or any message in a conversation. Reports include a reason, and reach us directly.

You can also block anyone from any conversation or profile. Blocking is immediate, and does not require a report first.

Reports can be sent to us at any time at brad@neworbit.app, including by people who are not Orbit members.

How we respond

Reporting to authorities

Orbit complies with applicable child safety laws. Apparent child sexual abuse material is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the United States, and to the relevant national authority in other jurisdictions where we are required to report.
